Our environmental policy is simple—we don’t send anything to the landfill. All of the material we take is recycled, reused or repurposed. You might be wondering: well what about the things that aren’t typicaly recycled? That’s a good question, which we’ll answer with an example.
Say you have a pressed wood-glue product that you don’t want to send to the mill to become little Johnny’s notebook paper. We’ll repurpose it. It’ll go to a woodworker, cabinet maker, shop, or even Goodwill or the Salvation Army instead. We’ll find someone who can make use out of it! “We try to do the right thing, no matter what, and rarely turn anything down,” says Billy, owner of The Recycling Company.
What’s So Important About Recycling Anyway?
For one, salvaging material requires a minimal amount of energy consumption, and reduces consumption of new materials. As the global population grows, so does the demand for various materials. By recycling, we can get the most use out of our ever-decreasing resources—so from a logistical standpoint, recycling just downright makes sense. Furthermore, recycling decreases pollution.
When materials decompose in landfills, toxic gas and leachate is released into the environment. According to the EPA, landfills are the second largest contributors to methane gasses in the United States. Therefore, we think that recycling is the best way to combat those environmental hazards!
By recycling, you’re saving time, money, energy and the environment. If you have unwanted materials on hand, we’ll auction them off and get you return on your investment, all while ethically disposing of all the rest!
